目前水果包装仍处于初级阶段。许多水果在旺季根本没有包装,堆在路边叫卖;或用竹篓、塑料编织袋包装,几十公斤一件。现在的城镇多是三、四口人小家庭,实在难以接受,更谈不上包装设计、宣传了。

(1)蔬菜的运输尤其是中、远途运输,应该进行包装,目的是防止运输途中压坏蔬菜造成损失。这种包装应当简易,能有效防止挤压,且能重复使用,包装成本低。也可以在运输车箱上专门设计安装隔层,将蔬菜一层一层放置,层与层之间距离不能大,这样能达到防挤压的目的。

在蔬菜种植基地搞净菜加工,采用技术进行包装,实现产业化,是提高蔬菜种植业经济效益的基本思路。现在使用的净菜包装,基本上是用泡沫塑料托盘,再包一层聚乙膜。泡沫塑料造成白色污染,使用受到限制,而且这种包装保质期短,所以在包装材料的选择上必须改进。对于当天能销售的净菜,可以用纸浆模塑盘再辅之以聚乙烯膜包装。如果要求保质期长一些如3-5天,则可采用气调包装或真空包装,并低温(4℃左右)冷藏。
